Blocking someone

Blocking is for when you'd rather not see someone, or not be seen by them. It's quiet: they aren't told.

1. Open the ··· menu on one of their posts or comments.
2. Choose “Block” and confirm.

What happens

• They can't see your posts or comments, and you can't see theirs.
• Any follow between you is removed, in both directions.
• They aren't notified.

To unblock someone

On the website, go to Settings, then Privacy & safety, then “Manage blocked accounts”. In the apps, open your Profile, tap Settings, then “Blocked accounts”. Choose “Unblock” next to the person.

Blocking isn't a report. If someone is breaking the rules, report them as well. See “Reporting a post or comment”.
