Terms of Service

Welcome to Lysties

Lysties is a place to find good spots through honest photos from people who have actually been there. These terms explain how Lysties works and what we expect from each other. We've tried to keep them short and clear. They apply whenever you use the Lysties website or our iPhone and Android apps.

Lysties is run by Jineo Technologies, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States (“Jineo”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Lysties, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Lysties.

Two other documents are part of the deal: the Community Guidelines, which say what is welcome here, and the Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data. These terms were last updated in October 2026.

Who can use Lysties

You must be at least 16 years old to use Lysties. If the law where you live sets a higher age for using a service like this, you must be at least that old.

If we find out that someone under 16 has an account, we'll close it and erase it. If you think a child is using Lysties, please tell us at [email protected].

We may refuse to create an account for someone we have already removed for breaking these terms.

Your account

You can create an account with your email address, a username and a password. You can also continue with Google, or with Sign in with Apple in the iPhone app. When you sign up, we email you a 6-digit code to confirm your address. If your account has no password, we email you a code each time you sign in. A code works for ten minutes.

Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else got in, change your password, use “Sign out everywhere” in Settings on the website, and write to us.

Your username is public. You can change it once every 30 days. Please don't pick one that impersonates someone else or that breaks our Community Guidelines.

One person, one account: please don't open extra accounts to get around a removal or to climb a leaderboard.

We keep a record of the date you accepted these terms and which version you accepted, so we know what we agreed on.

What you post

You own what you post: your photos, captions and comments. Posting on Lysties doesn't change that.

To run Lysties, we need your permission to use what you post. So you give Jineo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize, display and distribute your content as part of the service. That includes showing it in feeds, search and Explore, on your profile and on place pages, in notifications, and in the previews that appear when you or other people share a link. It also lets us make the different image sizes and share cards the service needs.

This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short delays while copies clear from our systems. It doesn't undo what other people have already done with something you made public, such as sharing a link or taking a screenshot.

Only post what is yours to post. Take your own photos, and don't upload pictures you don't have the right to share. You are responsible for what you post, and we may remove anything that infringes someone's rights.

A post can't be edited after you share it. If you want to change something, delete the post and share it again. Deleting is permanent.

When your account is public, your profile and posts can be seen by anyone, including people without an account, and public pages can show up in search engines. With a private account, only followers you approve can see your posts. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Community rules, reports and moderation

Lysties only works if the photos and opinions are real. Our Community Guidelines spell out what is welcome and what isn't, from fake reviews and spam to harassment and illegal content. They are part of these terms.

Anyone can report a post or a comment from its menu, and you can block someone from a post's menu. People you block can't see your posts or comments, you can't see theirs, and they aren't told.

Our team reviews reports. We don't approve posts before they go up, so we count on our members and on that review. If something breaks our rules or the law, we may remove it, limit what an account can do, suspend it or close it. We'll usually tell you why when we act on your account, unless the law or someone's safety says we shouldn't.

If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and we'll take another look.

Places and businesses on Lysties

Lysties lists restaurants, cafés, lounges and other places. Listings (names, addresses, opening hours, photos) come from public information and from members, so they can be wrong or out of date. If it matters, check with the place, especially hours and prices.

What members say about a place (their verdict on whether they'd go back, their vibes, their photos and captions) is their own opinion and experience, not ours. Lysties doesn't endorse any business, and no business is a partner of Lysties unless we say so.

Badges such as Hidden gem, Local favourite and Rising, and rankings such as Trending and Top spots, are worked out from what members post and do. We don't sell them, and they are not a guarantee of quality.

If you run a business and a factual detail on your listing is wrong, write to us and we'll fix it. We don't remove honest posts just because they are unflattering.

Streaks and leaderboards

A streak counts the weeks in a row, Monday to Sunday, in which you shared at least one post. Leaderboards rank people by their activity in a city or everywhere, over a week, a month or a year. Posting counts the most, and the loves, comments, saves and shares your posts get count too.

They are a fun way to recognise people who share good spots. They are not a contest with prizes, and we don't promise money or anything of value for any rank. We may change how they are calculated, reset them or switch them off.

Leaderboards are visible to everyone and can show your username, photo and score. Private accounts never appear on leaderboards, in any city or Everywhere. If you switch your account to private, you leave the boards; switch back to public and you're ranked again.

Please don't game them. Fake accounts, bought engagement, or posting about places you haven't been to climb a leaderboard can get you removed from it, or from Lysties.

Notifications and emails

If you allow them, we send push notifications in the iPhone and Android apps for things like loves, comments, new followers and follow requests, streak reminders and a weekly digest. On the website they appear in Notifications. You choose which ones you get in Settings, and you can pause them all.

We also email you when the service needs to: codes to sign in or confirm a change, your data export, and a confirmation when your account is deleted. We may also send you marketing emails: news about Lysties, tips and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Emails the service needs, like codes, your export and the deletion confirmation, can't be turned off.

Changes to the service

Lysties keeps evolving. We may add, change or remove features, or pause the service for maintenance. We'll try to warn you about big changes that affect you. Some features, such as posting without a connection, depend on your device and your network.

Leaving Lysties, or being removed

You can stop using Lysties at any time. From Settings you can deactivate your account on the website (it signs you out everywhere and hides your profile, posts and comments from everyone until you reactivate; nothing is erased, and our support team can reactivate it if you ask) or delete it for good, on the website or in the apps.

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. It erases your profile, posts and photos, comments, reactions, saved lists, follows, blocks, notifications, devices, data exports and linked sign-in methods, usually within minutes. A few things stay without any link to you; the Privacy Policy lists them. Before you delete, you can download a copy of your data from Settings.

We may suspend or close an account if someone breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines, puts others at risk, or if the law requires it. If that happens we'll tell you why where we can, and you can ask us to review the decision.

If you can't sign in, write to [email protected] from your account's email address and we'll help, including with deleting the account.

Other services

Lysties works with other services: Google and Apple if you sign in with them, and apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and X when you choose to share a link. They have their own terms and privacy policies, and we don't control them.

Lysties itself

The Lysties name, logo, design and software belong to Jineo or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the website and apps for what they are meant for. Please don't copy, scrape or resell Lysties, reverse-engineer the apps, or try to break or overload the service.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep Lysties useful and safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. We can't promise it will always run without interruption or errors, or that every listing and post is accurate.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the mandatory law of your country that can't be waived.

Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Jineo isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profits, or for what other people post or do. Lysties is free to use, and our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to US$100.

This doesn't limit anything the law doesn't let us limit, such as liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, and the courts of Bernalillo County, New Mexico can hear disputes we can't settle.

That doesn't take away any protection you get from the mandatory law of the country where you live. For example, the consumer protection rules in Cameroon, and Law No. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on personal data protection, which applies to the data of people in Cameroon wherever the company is based. Where your country's mandatory law lets you bring a claim in your local courts, you can.

We'd much rather solve a problem together first. Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to [email protected] and describe the issue. We'll both spend 30 days trying to settle it informally.

We don't require arbitration, and you are not giving up the right to join a class or collective action where your local law allows it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Lysties gets new features or the law changes. We'll post the new version here with its date, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using Lysties after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you don't, you can delete your account.

The small print

If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to do it later. These terms, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Jineo about Lysties.
