Deleting your account

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. It can't be undone and we can't bring anything back. If you just need a break, deactivate your account instead: it hides your profile, posts and comments, and support can reactivate it.

Want a copy of your posts and photos first? Download your data before you delete: Settings, then Privacy & safety, then “Download my data”.

On the website

  1. Go to Settings, then Account, and scroll down to the “Danger zone”.
  2. Choose “Delete my account”.
  3. Confirm with your password, or with the code we email you if your account has no password.
  4. Choose “Delete my account” once more to finish.

On iPhone and Android

  1. Open your Profile, tap Settings, then “Delete my account”, just above “Log out”.
  2. Confirm with your password or the code we email you. On iPhone, if you signed in with Apple, you confirm with Sign in with Apple, which also removes Lysties from your Apple ID.

What is erased

  • Your account and your profile, including your photo
  • Your posts and the photos in them, originals included
  • Your comments, reactions and saved lists
  • Who you follow and who follows you, and the people you blocked
  • Your notifications, devices, data exports and the sign-in methods linked to your account

You're signed out the moment you confirm. The erasing itself takes a few minutes, and we email you a confirmation.

A few things stay, with no link to you: share counts, usage statistics, places you added to the map, and reports you filed. Replies other people wrote under your comments stay on the post.

Can't sign in, or no longer have the app?

Write to [email protected] from your account's email address and ask us to delete it. We'll check it's you before we erase anything.
